Jesse

About the groom

Jesse comes from Yangon, Myanmar, and is part of the Chin ethnic community. His journey has taken him from Myanmar to the Philippines and eventually to New Zealand, where he completed his schooling and went on to study Politics and International Relations at university.

It was there that he met Joy, and the two bonded over a shared love for music - especially singing and playing the guitar - as well as their mutual passion for running and hiking.

Today, Jesse and Joy are both building their careers at Danone and making a home together in the small town of Balclutha, New Zealand.

Joy

About the bride

Joy grew up in Singapore, a self-proclaimed late bloomer who was always wondering what she truly wanted to do in life. She first studied Nutrition, then Food Science at the National University of Singapore - but she’ll be the first to admit she hated her course.

In a life-changing decision made within just one week, Joy packed her bags and moved to New Zealand to study Consumer Food Science - a leap of faith that would change everything.

That’s where she met Jesse. Though her first impression of him wasn’t exactly glowing, she soon discovered another side to him - one that made her laugh, inspired her, and eventually won her heart.

We hope you’ll join us on this special day.
